Staying Connected

Momentum for Life.

In a day and age where so many in our world make New Year’s resolutions only to forget them a few weeks later, we have the perfect sermon series to help you get 2010 started off on the right foot!

Our current sermon series is entitled Momentum for Life, based upon the book by the same name by pastor Michael Slaughter.  Based on the Psalms of Ascent, Momentum for Life will help us to be our best selves and move forward to God's promised future through five key life areas:

  • D—Devotion to God - January 10, 2010
Many churches and individuals lack a deep devotional life, costing them passion and prophetic presence in their lives.
  • R– Readiness for Lifelong Learning - January 17, 2010
Continuing to be inspired by what we see, read, and fill our souls with is a priority.
  • I—Investing in Key Relationships - January 24, 2010
This key to momentum is two-fold: our families and also those who are positive and alive in Christ. It may mean spending less time on the negative, destructive people.
  • V– Visioning - January 31, 2010
The healthy and faithful church has a faith-picture of itself--what it’s called to do and how. It keeps to that vision even if it is difficult, money is short, or it takes hard decisions to accomplish the vision.
  • E– Eating and Exercise - February 7, 2010
As hard as some of us (including your pastor) find this to be, without good health and energy we fall short of our best for God.

Donations to Haiti

On January 12, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck southern Haiti just 16 miles from its capital city of Port-au-Prince.  Preliminary reports are of wide spread damage and devastation in the capital city and surrounding areas.  The loss of life is very high.  Our brothers and sisters in Haiti need our immediate prayers and support.  UMCOR has established an advance special number to accept donations to respond to this earthquake.  Go to http://tinyurl.com/umcorhaiti or donate to Advance Special #418325 “Haiti Emergency”.
