Music is a vital part of our ministry at First United Methodist Church. We believe that God is glorified through the use of our talents and that music rightly has an important place in the worship experience and congregational life of the church. There are choirs for every age, small ensembles and solo opportunities, festival choirs for special performances, and dinner productions and dramas held for a variety of functions throughout the year.

Chancel Choir

Chancel Choir is the adult choir that sings for worship services each Sunday. The Chancel Choir rehearses from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights in the choir room (104) and sings at the 9:30 and 11 am services. The Sonrise Choir rehearses at 7:30 a.m. before the 8 a.m. service and presents a hymn or shorter piece at that service. No audition is required for either group. Their music is a powerful message of God's word. Music is God's gift, and has an important place in the worship experience and the life of the church.

Upcoming Events

The FUMC Sonrise Singers, Chancel Choir, Celebration Singers and Methusiasm have a lot of up-coming activities. We would love our church family to attend these events or become involved with our ministry to bring the gospel to others.

Methusiasm, at FUMC youth are invited to participate in all areas of music ministry. Our youth choir, is for all youth in 6th through 12th grades and meets each Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

Children's choirs at FUMC are available for children from 2 years of age through 5th grade.

We believe that God is glorified through the use of our talents, and we seek to offer our "very best" so that God can use our offering in his own way in our congregation and in the world at large.

ENTERLIFE - CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP SERVICE

FUMC’s contemporary worship service is led by our praise band, PowerHouse. The band has been a major part of the service since the beginning in 2001. PowerHouse plays the most current in Christian praise and worship music. In addition to regular services, you can see PowerHouse in the late summer/early fall perform their annual “Concert On the Lawn”. PowerHouse is by audition; if you are interested in becoming a part of the band come by and visit the EnterLife service and speak with Geoff Walton.
